The Cathedral, right in the historic quarter is without question the grand monument of the city of Málaga, thanks to its grandiose style. Gothic, renaissance, baroque, neo-classical styles come together, the result of the 254 years that it took to be built and because of its impressive size. The Cathedral is also known as Manquita ("one-armed") as it has only one tower; the second tower was not finished because the money was spent supporting the American War of Independence.
