Málaga has very good communications with excellent transport. While being very good for walking, it also offers a range of options for getting around the city and surrounding areas. Once you are in the historic centre of Málaga, everything of interest is within walking distance.
BUS
The network of city buses in Málaga is extensive and most of the lines operate from 6.45 am until 11 pm, although some buses also run outside of those hours for example, the night buses.
Most buses can be caught at Alameda Principal in the centre of the city.

TAXI
Taxis in Málaga are white with diagonal blue stripes on the forward doors and a green light with the numbers 1-2-3 on the roof. If the green light is on or there is a notice saying "LIBRE" on the windscreen of the passenger side, then the taxi is available for hire.
TRAIN
As in the rest of the country, Málaga's train service is run by RENFE. The recently renovated María Zambrano train station has departures for Seville, Madrid, Córdoba and a wide variety of other destinations.
The new high-speed AVE Córdoba Málaga line has also recently opened, giving connection times from Málaga to Madrid of just 2.5 hours.
There is also a network of local trains ("Cercanías") that connects Málaga to Fuengirola, making 15 stops on the way - including Málaga Airport and Torremolinos. Trains leave every 30 minutes from 6.30 am until 10.30 pm.
